Generalist.
Not general.

Broad across fields. Deep in three crafts: learning design, project delivery, and learning technology.

Where I've lived and worked

Four countries, each with its own culture, institutions, and way of getting things done. Moving between them taught me to learn a new environment quickly and work well inside it.

Kerala, 2016
70

farmer producer companies taught to go digital during India's cash crisis. It earned me a Commonwealth Scholarship to UCL.

Mykademy LMS, London, 2021
3 → 1

Three countries, one launch. I led a team in London, Dublin, and India to put NOCN Group's UK apprenticeships on one platform, the start of a five-year partnership.

MyCaptain, Bangalore, 2021
+24%

more students finished their courses. I grew the content team from 10 to 21 and rebuilt 35 courses around where learners dropped off. Student NPS went from 59 to 70.

Geecom Learning, a two-year engagement
30

freelancers, one production line. Two video programs in English and Chinese for a UK awarding body.

Gem-A, London, 2022 to 2024
1908

is when Gem-A's story began. Registrations still ran on paper and post. Over 18 months I led the move to a new website, membership platform, and brand, for 2,000+ students a year.

Three crafts. Every field.

The industries change. What I bring to each one stays the same: designing for real competence, delivering the project, and using technology to make learning work better.

Learning design

Built on competence, not content.

Courses fail when they cover material instead of building ability. I start from the job itself: what a person needs to know, be able to do, and how they need to behave. Outcomes, practice, and assessment are then designed backward from that.

  • Job and task analysis (DACUM PLUS certified)
  • Knowledge, skills, and behaviours frameworks
  • Learning outcomes mapped to Bloom's taxonomy
  • Assessment blueprints and evaluation (Kirkpatrick)

Applied to UK apprenticeship programs at Mykademy, a course development framework at MyCaptain, and certification courses at Geecom.

Project delivery

Ideas are cheap. Delivery isn't.

Most good plans fail in execution. I run projects so they land on time and as agreed, whether the team is 10 people across three countries or 30 freelancers working in parallel.

  • Scope, work breakdown, and scheduling
  • Dependencies, risks, and quality gates
  • Vendor selection, RFPs, and budgets
  • Stakeholder reporting from team to CEO

PMP certified. Gem-A's 18-month transformation, the NOCN platform launch, and two years of video production for ABMA.

Learning technology

Technology that serves the learner.

The right platform makes learning easier to reach, easier to run, and easier to improve. I have put learning systems in place from rural Kerala to UK awarding bodies, and now I build my own.

  • LMS setup, migration, and upgrades (Moodle, Mykademy)
  • ePortfolio and apprenticeship platforms
  • Interactive content in Articulate Storyline
  • Learning products built with AI

Moodle for 70 farmer companies at ICTI, NOCN's apprenticeship platform, Gem-A's Moodle upgrade, and course-feedback.com.

Built with AI.

For years I had more ideas than the engineering skills to build them. AI closed that gap. These are three I designed and shipped myself.

How I work.

  1. Learn the domain before proposing anything.I spend time with the people who do the work, read the regulation or the data, and find out what good looks like in their world before suggesting changes to it.
  2. Diagnose before prescribing.A brief usually describes a symptom. At MyCaptain the problem wasn't the courses as a whole, it was the first thirty seconds of each video.
  3. Define done at the start.Scope, success measures, and sign-off are agreed before work begins, so the finish line doesn't move halfway through.
  4. Break the work down until the risks are visible.A proper work breakdown shows where the dependencies and bottlenecks sit, and that's where I put my attention.
  5. Prototype early, and let AI carry the load.A working first version in days draws better feedback than a proposal document in weeks.
  6. Keep judgment with people.AI can draft, code, and summarize at speed. Accuracy, compliance, and final sign-off stay with people who understand the subject.

Not everything worked.

Before the ventures that lasted, I started a recruitment agency and a higher education consultancy. Neither survived, and both changed how I choose what to build next.
